As promised, I wanted to discuss this new solar energy system i just found out about called Echo Solar System. Mankind has been trying to harness the Sun’s energy for decades now and no efficient way has been created. I mean, who doesn’t want a clean, renewable, never-ending, inexpensive energy source? The Sun is able to provide that amazing energy if, we could capture it. Before the Echo Solar System, solar energy systems were only harnessing about 15% of the Sun’s energy. Saving a conservative $30-$50 a month, it would take over 20 years for your solar system to pay for itself! Now, I know one of the byproducts of a solar energy system is you are doing your part to reduce greenhouse gases and save our planet, but come on, who in their right mind is going to invest that much money to not see a return for 20 years? That’s just bad economics.
Echo’s new solar system saves customers over 50% on their electric bill! That’s more than 3 times the standard solar system! Granted, this new system is initially more expensive, it will pay for itself quicker. Not to mention the improved quality of life you will have!
To fully understand how an Echo Solar System can improve your quality of live, first you must understand how the system works. Unlike traditional solar panels that get hot to create heat and provide energy, Echo’s system heats the air under the solar panel and uses vents to transport the heat into the home. This hot air can be used to directly heat the home, heat water, and even cool a home. Directly heating a home or water heater using hot air is pretty straight forward, but some of you may be wondering, Blake, how can you use hot air to cool a home? Gordon Handelsman, cofounder of echo Solar Systems, explained it best. Think of your water heater as a battery utilizing hot water to create power. The hot water that is stored is then used to create energy that can power appliances such as an air conditioning system. In turn, this means you will have a larger water heater, so you will always have hot water. I know this is sometimes an issue for large families with everyone trying to take a shower at the same time, someone usually has to take a cold shower. Not anymore!
Also, by heating air instead of the solar panels themselves, Echo Solar Systems are able to cycle fresh air into the home at all times. This air is pumped through a MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) filter, rated higher than hospital grade filters, and then into the home. This means your home will have fresh air all the time and allergens will be reduced to next to nothing. For people with allergies, or for those who have pets, this is a life saver.
