I recently returned from a trip to Boston and couldn’t help but notice some striking differences between the real estate market in Boston than that of Orlando. Boston is a beautiful city, resembling that of a time long ago. Traditional red brick buildings line the roads of Boston Harbor. The surrounding burrows feature semi-detached homes and busy streets. Many residents prefer condo or apartment living over single family homes because of travel times. This is a prime example of how location can effect price. People are willing to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for 1000 square feet apartments.
Boston is beautiful, it really is. The New England Aquarium sits right on Boston Harbor, setting a great ambiance for a picture perfect day. The prudential center offers great shopping, with a friendly atmosphere, surrounded by enormous skyscrapers. I had a wonderful time in Boston, but I prefer to be able to drive 5 miles in less than 30 minutes. While I chalk some of this up to just not knowing the fastest routes, traffic was terrible everywhere I went. I prefer the mostly quiet streets of Dr Phillips. I enjoy having a yard for my dogs to play in. I prefer not to have my neighbor’s 2 feet from me. Driving is just less stressful in Dr Phillips. It’s merely the lifestyle choice I chose. It is what I am accustom to, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I think it is very important to travel. Not only is it fun and exciting, it teaches us about different people’s lifestyles. It makes interacting with others easier if you know more about where they come from. If you can relate with clients, it makes all parties more comfortable. Take every opportunity you have to travel. Experience new cultures and new places. Maybe you’ll find you enjoy it just enough to make the leap and move there.
