Through multiple humanitarian efforts, Tangelo park has new community parks, and crime rates half been cut in half. While home prices are half that of neighboring Dr. Phillips and Windermere, it is still only a 15 minute drive to Restaurant row, 5 minutes from I-Drive, and 10 minutes from some of Central Florida’s best shopping.
One of Tangelo Park’s least known facts involves Rosen Hotel’s owner and 2011 Central Floridian of the year, Harris Rosen. Through Mr. Rosen’s efforts, every child in Tangelo Park has the opportunity to go to pre-school. To continue, any high school graduate accepted to a vocational school, state college, or public university in Florida, will have the opportunity to attend without spending a dime. That’s right, Mr. Rosen will pay for tuition, room, board, and living expenses for those students. He also sponsors parenting, vocational, and technical classes for those with children within the community.
